Burchick Construction Company Inc. is a full-service general contractor located in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, nine miles north of the center city on Interstate 279. Burchick Construction was founded on the commitment to excellence that Joe Burchick brings to each project the company undertakes. Burchick’s management approach is designed to ensure optimum results for our clients, setting the performance standard for construction services.

Our executives and managers have broad-based experience delivering construction to the highest standards, regardless of the client’s preference for delivery method. Joseph E. Burchick
President/Treasurer

Joe Burchick is President and Treasurer of Burchick Construction Company. Prior founding the Company in June of 1991, Joe worked for Dick Corporation, Navarro Corporation, and Dunn Corporation, progressively gaining experience and responsibility in estimating, project management, and executive leadership roles. Dating to 1978, his career features accolades such as the Benedum Center and the A.J. Palumbo Center. Building upon such work, Joe grew Burchick Construction to annually procure up to $50 million, and he has managed projects as large as: the $25 million Sennott Square for the University of Pittsburgh; the $18 million Airside Business Park for Elmhurst Group; the Army Corps of Engineers’ $26 million design-build contract for the 99th Regional Support Command Reserve Center in Moon Township; and, the $73 million renovation of the William S. Moorhead Federal building for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). Over the course of his career, which spans across five decades, Joe

David P. Meuschke, P.E.
Executive Vice President

Dave has been involved in the construction industry since 1977.  Dave began his career by laboring in the field until his graduation from college in 1981.  He earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree from Penn State with specialization in Construction Management.  Dave has experience in a variety of market sectors which include commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial, research and ecclesiastical.  Dave has worked under a variety of different contract formats, including lump sum, guaranteed maximum price, design-build and cost plus.  His project experience is extensive and includes projects ranging from $50,000 to $75 million.  He has worked closely with design teams, project owners, facility directors, consultants and user groups with successful project results.  Dave is well known in the subcontractor community where he has worked in the local and regional market for over 40 years.  Dave is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Pennsylvania and a LEED AP BD & C with the U.S. Green Building Council.  He also maintains an OSHA 30-hour Safety Certification. Dave has completed the training and certification for the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) 8-Hour Certification Program. Dave currently sits on the Board of Directors for both the Master Builders Association and the Pennsylvania Builders Exchange.

Joseph J. Wardman, P.E.
Vice President of Construction Operations

Joe has 28 years of experience managing preconstruction and construction services on a wide variety of projects valued from $10,000 to $25 million. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He maintains an OSHA 30-hour safety certification, and he has completed the training and certification for the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) 8-Hour Certification Program. Working with Burchick Construction Company since 2007, Joe is directly responsible for the performance and success of each project’s executive management and field operations. Joe’s dedicated communication skills combined with his multi-faceted experience are invaluable assets to Burchick Construction’s management division.


Brian P. Chlop
Chief Estimator

Brian has over sixteen years of experience in estimating and performing preconstruction schematic evaluations on projects in the commercial, healthcare, institutional, and financial sectors. Previously, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from West Virginia University. Brian has been with Burchick Construction Company since 2004, and he has been invaluable in negotiating apt estimate preparations in design/build and other competitive bid markets. He maintains an OSHA 30-hour safety certification and has completed training and for the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) 8-Hour Certification Program.
