Project Info: |
The scope of this project included
the concrete walls, curbs and sidewalks around the perimeter of the BST3
building. A significant portion of work involved new underground water,
steam and electric utilities which service the new building. Site lighting,
landscaping and various site amenities were included under Burchick’s
contract.
Given the nature and operation of this government facility, many security
features were incorporated into the site work package. Some of these
provisions included CATU cameras, security controlled access driveway
gates, terrorist resistant hydraulic barriers and impact resistant security
bollards.
New asphalt paving and pavement markings along with vehicular and traffic
control signaling were also completed as part of this sitework contract.

The negotiated GMP contract included
the completion of a 28,000 SF tilt-up concrete building addition to an
existing 7,000 SF structure. The facility includes a 25’ clear
span to underside of joint, standing seam roof and an interior fit-out.
The construction and erection of the tilt-up panels, structural steel,
bar joints and metal decking was performed by Burchick’s tradesmen.

Project Info: |
This project converted retail space
into the Wound Care and Pain Management Center for Ohio Valley General
Hospital. Due to leasing restrictions at their facilities, this renovation
was managed on a fast-track basis and completed in four months.
The project included the incorporation of four new air handling
units, emergency generator, fire sprinkler system, nurse call system
and a hyperabic chamber room.
The user group and the architect worked closely together with Burchick
to incorporate the most up-to-date program needs while construction was
ongoing without impact to cost or schedule.

The concrete scope for this
particular contract consists of caisson caps, grade beams, concrete
foundation and retaining wall, six shear wall towers, slabs on
grade and slabs on deck. Total quantity of concrete is approximately
8,000 CY with over 240,000 SF of flatwork.
Work began in September 2002 and concrete work is scheduled
for completion in June 2003. |

square feet on two floors. Features included 20,000 linear feet of running trim, a grand
staircase between floors, stone flooring, ornamental railings and a new HVAC system.

building, the first of two buildings that Burchick Construction Co.
is constructing at Airside Business Park for The Elmhurst Group.
Burchick utilized the tilt-up method of construction to expedite the

they were erected in five days. Portions of the facade were clad in
masonry, while other portions were painted. The use of tilt-up technology
facilitated the delivery of this building on time and under budget.

The Multi-Purpose Academic Complex
will be a prominent addition for the University of Pittsburgh. Located
in the heart of Oakland on Forbes Avenue, this building will house
several colleges and departments in addition to providing increased
classrooms and support space. The first floor of the building will
be leased for general retail use. A two-story below ground parking
garage will help to alleviate the current parking shortage in the
Oakland area. The building is being constructed in a multiple prime
contract format. However, Burchick Construction with four major contracts,
is serving as the general contractor for the project by fulfilling
the duties typical of a general contractor. |

As one of the world's largest and
most specialized bridge erectors, American Bridge Company developed
a building scheme which featured an open truss structural steel design.
The exterior longitudinal frame and the "open air" second floor ceiling/roof
design integrates steel trusses to simulate the look of modern day
bridges. The building serves as the world headquarters for this international
company. As part of this project, Burchick Construction completed
a major portion of the site development, including riverfront footage
along the Ohio River. Burchick Construction is also currently working
on other projects for American Bridge. |

The existing mail facility required
a loading dock expansion. The facility was required to be in continuous
operation with a milestone to complete before the Holiday Season 1997.
The expansion included 58 loading docks, new vehicle maintenance facility,
demolition of existing buildings, relocation of existing equipment,
reconfiguration of traffic flow in parking lots and entry. The project
was a design build based on 10% design schematic drawings. The project
was competed on time. |

This office relocation of one of
Pittsburgh's most prestigious legal firms required a fast-track approach
to construction with an extreme attention to detail. This 80,000 SF build out
was accomplished over only 12 weeks by working very closely
with the owner, architect and building manager to assure that critical
move-in dates were met. This project is one of eleven that Burchick
Construction has successfully completed at USX Tower. As can be seen
in the attached photos, this project incorporated extensive wood trims
and millwork to create a professional and distinguished environment. |

Burchick Construction worked with the Architect to develop a GMP and
expedite the construction. The 28,000 SF, 2 story building contains
19, two(2) bedroom apartments, a chapel, meeting area and outdoor
courtyard gathering area. Each apartment has an outdoor balcony, full
kitchen and laundry. The brick exterior with Victorian entryway provides
a striking contrast to the country setting. |

the next millennium. Conceived as the hub in a campus wide master
plan, this structure captures the colonial style of the College's
other turn of the century structures. This building contains offices,
conference rooms, café style dining and other student support services.
